Career Coach

Work should feel purposeful — not something you simply get through

Many of the professionals I work with are experienced, capable people who have reached a point where something no longer feels quite right in their working life.

You might feel stuck and unsure where to go from here, lack confidence, wonder whether you've outgrown your role, or simply know that work isn't giving you what it used to.

Whether you're considering a career change or looking to improve your experience of work where you are, coaching can help you understand what's really going on and identify practical ways forward.

Coaching that supports both career change and workplace fulfilment

I'm Scott Foley, a Career Coach and Coach Supervisor with over 20 years' experience helping professionals navigate career change, career development and workplace challenges.

My clients come to me for many different reasons. Some are considering a career change. Others want to regain confidence, navigate challenges at work, progress professionally, or simply feel more fulfilled in their careers.

Coaching provides a confidential space to step back, think clearly and work through what's happening. Together we'll explore your situation, challenge unhelpful assumptions, identify practical options and create a plan for moving forward.

Sometimes that leads to a career transition. Sometimes it leads to a better experience of work where you are. Often it's about understanding which path is right for you.

I had a great experience working with Scott. He’s very professional but also just a genuinely kind person, which made the sessions really easy to dive into. I especially liked that he doesn't use a 'one-size-fits-all' approach, he really tailored everything to my specific situation and goals. Plus, he shared some excellent resources that have been super helpful. Definitely recommend him!

Since working with Scott, he has really helped me understand what I actually want and thrive at in a job, rather than focusing on what I don't like. Scott has a calming influence, making his judgement extremely good and I have valued his feedback throughout our sessions. Scott has also always supported in between meetings and given great material to support and explore learnings. Thank you Scott and look forward to working more with you in the future!

Scott and I worked together over 6 sessions, he was kind, knowledgeable, curious, challenging and attentive. I could not be more grateful to have worked with him, the coaching period has helped me immensely with my immediate problem, but I think will forever be of value as I learned to think about how I approach my career in a different way. Frequently Asked Questions

What is career coaching?

Career coaching is a supportive and practical process that helps you gain clarity, confidence, and direction in your career. Whether you're feeling stuck, considering a change, or looking to progress in your current role, coaching provides a space to explore your options and create a plan for moving forward.

Who do you work with?

I work with professionals at all stages of their careers, from those just starting out to experienced leaders and executives. Clients often come to me when they're considering a career change, seeking greater fulfilment at work, navigating a workplace challenge, or looking to take the next step in their career.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching may be right for you if you're feeling uncertain, stuck, frustrated, or ready for change. You don't need to have all the answers before starting. Coaching can help you gain clarity, identify your goals, and take meaningful action towards them.

Can coaching help if I don't know what I want to do next?

Absolutely. Many people come to coaching because they know something needs to change but aren't sure what that change looks like. Together, we'll explore your strengths, values, interests, and motivations to help you identify a direction that feels right for you.

Do I need to be planning a career change to benefit from coaching?

Not at all. Coaching can be valuable whether you're considering a career change or simply want to improve your experience in your current role or career path. Clients often seek coaching to build confidence, improve performance, develop leadership skills, or find greater satisfaction at work.

What kinds of challenges can coaching help with?

People come to coaching for many different reasons. You might be considering a career change, feeling stuck in your current role, struggling with confidence, facing workplace challenges, or looking for greater fulfilment in your work.

Coaching can also help with career progression, work-life balance, redundancy and career transitions, CV and interview preparation, leadership development and navigating periods of uncertainty. Whatever the challenge, coaching provides a supportive space to gain clarity, explore your options, and move forward with confidence.

How does the coaching process work?

Coaching begins with a conversation about where you are now, what you'd like to achieve, and the challenges you're facing. Through a series of structured conversations, I'll help you explore your options, gain new perspectives, and create practical actions that move you closer to your goals.

How many coaching sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and circumstances. Some clients gain what they need from a small number of sessions, while others choose ongoing support over a longer period. We'll discuss what feels right for you and create an approach that meets your needs.

Are coaching sessions confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the coaching relationship. Everything discussed during our sessions remains private, creating a safe space for open and honest conversations.

What happens during the free consultation?

The free consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss your current situation, what you'd like to achieve, and how coaching may be able to help. It's also a chance for you to ask questions and decide whether I'm the right coach for you. If we decide we're a good fit, we can discuss the next steps for working together.
